Books I'm Grateful I Read Giveaway Hop: Enter to Win 5 Amish-Themed Print Books!

Welcome to the Books I'm Grateful I Read Giveaway Hop, hosted by Valerie at Stuck in Books! Every blogger participating in this hop is giving away a book (or gift card to purchase one) that they're grateful they chose to read.

For my giveaway, I am offering one lucky winner a super prize pack of five (5) Amish-themed books in paperback! I'm grateful I read these books because they are inspirational and gave me a peek into a lifestyle that is very different from my own. Here are the books in the prize pack:

The Revealing
by Suzanne Woods Fisher

In a single, impulsive act, Naomi King chooses to follow her heart into unfamiliar territory, jeopardizing all that she holds dear. If anyone finds out what she’s up to, she’s in for trouble. But when it comes to Tobe Schrock, Naomi believes it’s worth it.

But it all comes crashing down when a young woman arrives at the Inn at Eagle Hill with an unexpected delivery for Tobe. Add a guest at the inn with a curious talent and a genealogist who is more interested in modern-day Schrocks than in old family trees, and evidence starts to mount that points to something sinister at work. Or someone.

A Season of Change
by Lynette Sowell

An Amish widower finds love in unexpected places.

Amish widower Jacob Miller believes it was a mistake to visit the Amish village of Pinecraft for winter vacation, especially after his daughter is struck by a car. Stranded in Sarasota until his daughter recovers, Jacob grows increasingly wary of events that unfold in his unfamiliar surroundings --- including the strange curiosity of Englischer Natalie Bennett.

Natalie never thought her circus career as an aerial silks artist would end with a blown-out knee at the age of 25. She also never knew her late mother had a secret -- that she was once Amish.

When Natalie meets the Millers at the Sarasota hospital, she is attracted to their warm hospitality and simple ways -- and soon wonders if they can help her find her mother's family. As Jacob and Natalie fall in love, their worlds collide. Will their differences tear them apart? Or will their love be strong enough to blend their clashing cultures?

The Proposal at Siesta Key
by Shelley Shepard Gray

Penny Troyer rarely disobeys her parents. In the years since her sister's tragic death, they've wanted nothing more than to keep her safe ... even if it means never leaving the house.

But tonight, she's bending the rules because Michael Knoxx, the most famous member of The Knoxx Family Singers, a traveling Mennonite Evangelical family, is scheduled to speak. Penny has heard of Michael -- how he lost part of his leg in a terrible accident and uses the experience to inspire others -- and knows she must meet him. So, for the first time ever, Penny stands up to her parents and goes out on her own.

Though he speaks about living life to the fullest, Michael knows he needs to take his own advice. Life on the road is grueling and Michael wants to slow down, to rest ... to perhaps meet someone who sees him as a man, not just a celebrity. So when a twist of fate allows him the chance to stay a little longer in Pinecraft, Michael knows God is showing him a new path, especially when he discovers how much he and Penny Troyer have in common.

But new friendships can't stop time. Soon, Michael's time in Pinecraft will be over and he'll be back on the road. Her time with Michael has brought her happiness, but will she be able to follow her heart? Or will she be faced with the one thing she's sure she'll never have the courage to do?

A Wedding at the Orange Blossom Inn
by Shelley Shepard Gray

Emma Keim was heartbroken when her husband, Sanford, passed away, leaving her to raise three young daughters alone. Though several years have passed, her relatives have made it no secret that they expect Emma to remain a widow, mourning Sanford indefinitely. But when she meets Jay Hilty -- a handsome widower with three young sons of his own -- Emma is delighted to have a new friend who understands her struggles. Still, she is dismayed that her family is so opposed to their friendship -- and the idea of it ever becoming anything more. She honors her husband's memory every day, but is she destined to be alone forever?

Emma's gentleness with Jay's boys stirs something in his heart that's been quiet for far too long. But when his oldest son becomes engaged to a local woman, suddenly Jay, Emma, and their children are swept up in wedding preparations. Witnessing his son's joy, Jay wonders if it's time for him to move forward, too, and find happiness again. Can these two parties of four become a happy, healthy family of eight?

An Amish Garden: Four Amish Novellas
by Beth Wiseman, Kathleen Fuller, Tricia Goyer and Vannetta Chapman

Where Healing Blooms by Vannetta Chapman
Emma discovers a runaway teen in her barn, and the bishop asks her to provide a haven for a woman and her two children. Then her mother-in-law reveals a secret about her garden. Will Emma choose loneliness or learn to accept God's gifts?

Flowers for Rachael by Kathleen Fuller
Rachael's garden is beautiful, but she is lonely. Gideon is in love with Rachael, but when Rachael finds her garden in shambles after a crisis, she rejects his help. Will she realize she doesn't have to do everything on her own?

Seeds of Love by Tricia Goyer
When a corporation shows interest in buying Sadie's heirloom seeds, she panics. They are all she has left of her Dat and Mem. Eli believes he can help Sadie, but a misunderstanding leaves her heartbroken. Will she trust him again, and will the seeds of a new relationship take root?

Rooted in Love by Beth Wiseman
Rosemary is doing her best to run her family's household. She excels at all her tasks except one: gardening. Saul has been interested in her for years, but Rosemary has turned him down repeatedly. Saul begins helping with her family's garden, but someone is sabotaging his efforts -- and keeping a secret that could change their lives.

  39. I think I would start with a Season of Change! I love the Amish. I actually wrote a college paper on them. They might choose to be more simplisitc than we are but it was amazing to learn (and experience) how much they really are like us! They get to live with "old fashioned" values just like I wish the world still did!
