Literary Addicts Weekly Meme: Favorite Children’s Books

It’s Wednesday! And that means it’s time for the Literary Addicts Weekly Meme! Every Wednesday, they suggest a fun theme to write about. The theme of this week: “What is your favorite children’s book? Past or present...

Well, there’s no way I can pick one favorite children’s book, but here are books (mostly series) that I couldn’t put down when I was a kid followed by those that my 9-year-old boys are now hooked on:

My favorites:

The Narnia series, by C.S. Lewis

The Little House on the Prairie series, by Laura Ingalls Wilder

Anne of Green Gables series, by L.M. Montgomery

Madeline books, by Ludwig Bemelmans

Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle books, by Betty MacDonald

My boys’ favorites:

The Magic Tree House series, by Mary Pope Osborne

The Wimpy Kid series, by Jeff Kinney

The Captain Underpants series, by Dav Pilkey

Roald Dahl books
(Matilda, James and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, etc.)

  1. Hello I love the children's books that you listed. My daughter has also read many that your kiddos have too.

    Heres my link:

  2. I loved the Narnia and Anne of Green Gables books! My boys LOVE the Captain Underpants books. *sigh* LOL

  3. I had a big ‘yes’ fest while reading your meme - except that Diary of a Wimpy Kid was not a choice when I was a kid - but my daughter read every one of that series, and my son is keeping up with it now. I’m late on these meme’s but I love, love, love children’s books.
