#RockYourBlog August Writing Prompts: What Can’t You Do Without Each Day?

This month, I am participating in the #RockYourBlog Writing Prompts hop. The topic for today, August 5, is: What is one thing you can’t go a day without?

Now, I’m assuming they don’t mean obvious things like food or air. So, I’m going to reveal something I never forgo each day, which is going to make me sound extremely shallow. It’s makeup!

Yes, I’m one of those weird (and increasingly rare) women who won’t leave the house without her makeup on. This has been a “problem” since I was a teenager. I pride myself on the fact, though, that my obsession has gotten much better. Many years ago, I would paint my face with the works: foundation, powder, mascara, eye liner, lipstick, blush, and eye shadow. These days, I’ve managed to whittle down my makeup routine to include only foundation with powder, mascara and lipstick. It just takes a few minutes to apply, and after brushing my teeth and combing my hair, I’m ready to go! Why do I feel so insecure in public without makeup? I guess I just want to put my “best face” forward, and I don’t feel like I’ve done that without a little face paint.

So, what about you? What is one thing you can’t go a day without?
