Literary Addicts Weekly Meme: The Book I Hated in School

It’s Wednesday! And that means it’s time for the Literary Addicts Weekly Meme! Every Wednesday, they suggest a fun theme to write about. The theme of this week: What book were you required to read in school that you absolutely hated?

A Tale of Two Cities
By Charles Dickens

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...” My vote goes for the WORST of times! We spent a whole semester of English Literature studying this book in high school. Honestly, I don’t remember a thing about it except that it had something to do with the French Revolution. We had to memorize part of it and recite it to the class under Sister Agnes Patrice’s critical eye. It was torture! I’d probably appreciate it more now as an adult, but I’m in no hurry to read it again.

What about you? What required book did you hate reading in school? CLICK HERE for links to the other blogs participating in this meme to find out their choices!

  1. Oh...I loved that book! But a whole semester of it would be too much...overkill.
