Inside & Out Book Tag

I saw this book tag on Christian Bookshelf Reviews, so I thought I'd join along. If you have a book blog, I hope you’ll join us, too. Leave a link to your post in the comments section so we can read your answers!

I ~ Inside flap/back of the book summaries: Too much info? Or not enough? (Discuss.)
The more info, the better. I hate book backs or flaps that just contain a list of endorsements. I want to know what the story is about before I commit to purchasing it.

N ~ New book: What form do you want it in? Be honest: Audiobook, E-Book, Paperback, or Hardcover?
Paperback. I’ve been trying to use my eReader more, but I still love having an actual book. Hardcovers are too bulky and expensive, so trade or mass-market paperbacks are great.

S ~ Scribble while you read? Do you like to write in your books, taking notes, making comments, or do you keep your books clean clean clean? (Tell us why.)
I keep them clean because I usually pass my books along in giveaways or donate them to the used bookstore at my library, so it’s more courteous to the next reader if they’re unmarked.

I ~ In your best voice, read for us your favorite 1st sentence from a book.
[In an English accent…]
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.
~Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen

D ~ Does it matter to you whether the author is male or female when you're deciding on a book? What if you're unsure of the author's gender?
No, it doesn’t matter to me, although I find that women tend to write more in the genres I like, such as historical fiction, Christian fiction and fantasy.

E ~ Ever read ahead? Or have you ever read the last page way before you got there?
I have to confess that I have, on a few occasions, read the last page when I was just in too much suspense as to how the story would end. But, generally, I am able to restrain myself from reading ahead.

O ~ Organized bookshelves, or Outrageous bookshelves?
Unfortunately, I don’t have enough space for the books waiting for me to read, so they are messily stacked on top of each other, in front of each other, etc.

U ~ Under oath: have you ever bought a book based on the cover (alone)?
I don’t think so. As I stated previously, I really like to know what the book is about before I’ll commit to buying or reading it.

T~ Take it outside to read, or stay in?
I usually read inside because I get too distracted by all the people and things going on around me outside.
