I'd love to get The House of Mirth by Edith Wharton, a beloved favorite, for my personal library if it's affordable. Ideally, I'd finally obtain Finnegan's Wake and re-commence the study of Joyce's genius that I left off over a decade ago in college(!) However, that will almost certainly be out of budget. If Mirth is too pricey, I'm thinking of Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man because I haven't read it since high school! Thanks for this amazing opportunity -- this is the best blog hop around! Cheers, Kara S
ReplyDeleteI would chose Native Son by Richard Wright. I have already read it, but I do not own a copy.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to get Vanity Fair
ReplyDeleteI would like to get - Their Eyes Were Watching God
ReplyDeleteI'd choose Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte.
ReplyDeleteI would get The Forsyte Saga, so surprised to see it there! One of my mother in law's faves!
ReplyDeleteI think I might pick Cat's Eye by Margaret Atwood or Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace. There's a bunch of titles on here that I either read prior to college or are available via Project Gutenberg (I used this *so much* in late middle school through high school). What I found interesting is that of all the books I was drawn to (a fairly decent sized list), I'd picked two Thomas Hardy novels. There's a bunch I liked that were set in/around WW2, but these two books are the ones I feel most drawn to today. We'll see if that's the same if I win :) But it's more likely that if I'd win, I'd be interested in one of those two books over the other. Just gotta wait to see what my tastes are for that particular day!!
ReplyDeleteI love the premise of the giveaway but so many of these I've already read in highschool or college or I already have them. Thank you though, it's a great idea :)
ReplyDeleteI'd like to get East of Eden or The Great Gatsby. So many wonderful choices. Thank you for this chance.
